2014 COTA Team Information

Each January, Children of the Americas, Inc. sends a volunteer medical/surgical team to work in a different area of Guatemala. The duration of the trip is one week, and will take place in January 2014.

The team works in local public community hospitals, in partnership with Guatemalan hospital administration and staff. Site selection is based on need, hospital size, and feasibility of transportation. All team participants serve on a volunteer basis, and are responsible for their own airline travel and hotel costs.

Children of the Americas, Inc. provides the following medical/surgical services:

Obstetric/gynecological surgery
General surgery
Pediatric Orthopedic surgery
Family practice medicine
Dentistry
Orthotic/prosthetic services
Full pharmeceutical services for all patients

Applications are accepted after August 1st preceding the mission trip. The deadline for submission of applications is October 15. Applications for upcoming teams are available by contacting Rosemary Vance, Team Coordinator, at 859-338-5543, or by e-mail at rosemaryvance@gmail.com
